| My Co-worker Ryan sent me birthday wishes on IM today:

(He has an obsession with Lionel Richie for some reason, haha.) |

| Michael just got laser eye surgery (gasp). He says it's the "best thing that's ever happened to him." I'm still a bit squeamish about the whole cutting-up-your-eye-with-a-laser thing, but the thought of never having to wear contacts and glasses again is pretty appealing.
Michael's recent surgery has left me a fat inheritance, however. He has a 2 year supply of contacts, prescription -5.50. It JUST so happens they're the same prescription for my left eye and it JUST so happens I need to reorder contacts--so now I can get a whole supply of right eye contacts to match, and not have to pay a penny for left eye contacts.
W00t!!! I'm set for 2 years, baby!!!!!
Maybe then I'll consider lasers...
hehe.

| I wrote an email awhile back, but I thought I might as well update my xanga too.
I'm writing from my room in Daly City right now, and outside are the
twinkling lights of Daly City in the dark. They remind me of christmas
lights in winter. The pastor from Cornerstone (the church Jason and I
are attending) referred to San Francisco as a "beautiful city that God
loves." Most of the time I picture SF's dirty streets, old buildings,
and homeless people. (It's what I walk by everyday.) But, like every
place in the world, God loves the people here and wants to redeem it--I
wonder how he sees this world: as potential? as beautiful? as redeemed?
Going to Cornerstone has opened my heart a bit more. Its emphasis is on
grace, and diversity. One of Jason's passions is the Body of Christ and
its diversity--whether social class or racial, knowing God breaks all
boundaries. I think I'm learning to appreciate diversity in God's love,
and I'm getting a better picture of grace.
As for less heady matters, work has been going fine! (www.finedesigngroup.com)
The car is fixed from the accident, but the insurance matters and
liability are still being determined. Pray that my witness' testimony
goes through and I'm not liable for the accident! Praise the Lord I'm
not hurt.
I'm coming back to Seattle in less than 2 weeks! It'll be so good to come home and see everyone.
I've visited different small groups here to find a christian community
(through cornerstone and GRX). I think I just need an open heart and
initiative to get involved in people's lives.
I keep forgetting to take pictures (and therefore, post pictures--so
I'm stealing them from Jason's site). Jason's much much better at
updating than I am!

I'm here all by my lonesome on memorial day wknd, so I'm sure I'll be posting lots! Hee hee.
We hung out with Alan last weekend.

Jason and his brother Gene

The car (although this was before the accident, it's fixed now!)

My room: way bigger than my room in Seattle, hee hee.
